Flows were reasonable.....decent visibility, 2 of us worked it pretty hard with popsicles & other swing flies.....1 fish hooked & lost in a day & a half.....quite a few folks out & no reports of fish....one driftboater said it was the 1st time they had ever been skunked.

I GUESS THIS/THESE FORUMS ARE DEAD. Nobody seems to use them much. STEELHEAD FISHING TIP #1 : Very, Very rarely is steelhead fishing good if the AIR temp. doesn't at least equal or excede the water temp. SFT # 2 : Fresh fish never hold over silty/mud/sandy bottoms. Runbacks will, if you ever catch a fresh run fish in the river where its silt or mud, you are a very lucky ASS___E , you actually intercepted a fish passing over that wasteland on it's migration. Fishing is fairly good, Winter run is just starting.

The river is a little high, but is green and clearing. cold water and air temps. this week have made it a little tougher. I got 2 bucks yesterday, both were about 6 to 7 lbs. bright, very fresh fish. nothing today, rained late in the afternoon, just a light shower and a little hail.

It's Definately not happening on the V.D. We did get a real good Salmon run in Nov. , of both Kings and Silvers. The King run was probably twice the normal average , and mostly all of them made it to spawn. ('cept for a few...)

VD is on. screw the barbless hook rules, I do. Hey Christian, I like to meet ya maybe sometime on the river. COOL Fish story: On 12/20/05, I was doing carcass counts on the VD between 14 mile bridge + the dump. On my way back I took a short cut thru the high water bypass channel up next to the trees, and found a mint bright 44" 35lb. king that had gotten stranded in the bypass when the level receded. She didn't have a mark on her, and couldn't have been there for more than a few hours when I found her. Her meat was bright red, she smoked up great. way cool!!!

today was a good day for all types of fish. Starting around 7:00 this morning I started off with my fly rod and landed 3 half/pounders , all were good fighters leaping out of the water. Later on in the day I got out my steelhead rod and went to my secret fishing hole and threw out a ****** let it sink to the bottom, started retrieving really slow and wham!! I had me a nice steelhead on..(buck)..he fought for about 10 minuets and got a nice picture of him. Then I caught two salmon one about 10 pounds and the other was a big 40lb chromer ........well Im out of time for the rest of the story so I will continue another day....
